Science meets Practice

In cooperation with Humboldt University of Berlin

Our objective is to highlight breathwork in its current development and to connect theory with lived practice.

At Humboldt University of Berlin, several research projects are currently dedicated to the fascinating field of breathwork. The central question is what transformative potential breathwork holds for the treatment of mental illnesses such as depression and trauma – and where potential risks lie. In this context, researchers focus not only on various breathing techniques but also on the crucial factors of set and setting.

Whether you want to learn more about breathwork, are just beginning to explore the world of breathing, or if you have already delved deeper into the practice, perhaps working as a therapist or coach with breathing techniques and breathwork, or researching them scientifically, then the Berlin Breathwork Days offer the perfect setting.

  • "It is rare for avant-garde practitioners, such as the pioneers of the German breathwork movement, to engage in an intimate exchange about the risks and immense opportunities of breathwork, free from commercial motives, as occurred at the first Berlin Breathwork Days; in other words: passion and mutual goodwill, as desired by initiator Yasmine Orth."

    – Kristin Rübesamen | Founder of Yogahikes.de and Editor-in-Chief of Yogaeasy.de

  • You have very convincingly succeeded in moderating an appreciative dialogue that bridged worlds which might otherwise perceive themselves as overly intellectual, detached, or dry, or conversely, as too intuitive, inexplicable, or tradition-bound.

    – Hans Rutrecht | MIND Foundation

  • The Breathwork Days proved to be an inspiring event, uniquely integrating scientific research with experiential exchanges from our own and other breathwork schools. We were delighted to participate in the panel and contribute to the discourse on critical aspects of breathwork, thereby collectively shaping the future of this practice.

    – Klaus and Vidya Ulbricht | Founders of Lichtatmung® and naou®

  • The Breathwork Days represent a meticulously curated event that integrates scientific insights with various breathwork disciplines, thereby providing an unparalleled platform for personal development and collective learning. This event enriches the global community and warrants international expansion to grant more individuals access to the transformative potential of breathwork.

    – Sukkhadas Auer | Wim Hof Instructor

  • What Yasmine has created with the Breathwork Days has delivered immense value and facilitated something truly novel: an exchange of knowledge and insights among diverse breathwork schools and methodologies. This feels like a momentous beginning!

The Diversity of Breathwork

At a time when many people are seeking regulation and direct access to their own bodies, the breath is once again moving into focus.

Breathwork refers to targeted breathing methods or techniques that influence the body, nervous system, and consciousness. When properly guided, breathwork can regulate stress, support emotional processes, build energy, and deepen access to inner clarity.

What was long rooted in Eastern traditions, yoga, and shamanic contexts is now being scientifically researched. Breathing techniques are applied in psychotherapy, trauma work, performance coaching, and prevention.

The Berlin Breathwork Days provide a safe, professional, and respectful space for scientifically-informed breathwork and embodied experience. By purchasing a ticket or participating, all attendees commit to our principles.
