The Initiators

Yasmine Orth and Isabel Dziobek have known each other for almost 30 years. In recent years, Isabel has been a speaker at Yasmine's Female Leadership 'Salon Mondaine' and on The Lovers & Leaders stage, addressing 'Mindful Sustainability Leadership' at the Yoga United Festival. There, she presented her work as an empathy researcher, yoga teacher, and this year, also parts of her latest study (with Martha Havenith) on breathwork.

For the main day on Friday, Yasmine and Isabel have curated a diverse panel. They will also co-host the AWARE film screening.

  • Yasmine Orth

    INITIATOR, METAMORPHOSIS BREATH, FOUNDER THE LOVERS & LEADERS

    Yasmine Orth is the initiator of the organization and community THE LOVERS & LEADERS and an entrepreneur with two event spaces in Berlin.

    For 20 years, the daughter of an Indian born in Kenya and a German, she has been a bridge-builder, networker, community creatrix, and impulse generator in Berlin across the fields of 'Creativity & Community, Female Empowerment & Leadership, Mindfulness & Health, and social sustainability for heart-led leadership'.

    She creates physical and energetic spaces for conscious encounters, transformation, and the unfolding of potential with impact.

    Since 2010, her diverse co-creative journeys, retreats, workshops, and salons have served as experimental, research, and encounter spaces for communal experiences, fostering the exploration, pioneering, and embodiment of a new society where we live more in harmony with ourselves, our environment, and the planet.

    Yasmine is a trained PR and communications specialist and was educated over many years in salubrious work (healing & energy work) by her spiritual teacher Mari Nil, and as a coach (Coaching Spiral) by her first mentor, Alexandra-Schwarz-Schilling. She is a certified energy trainer (Yoga Vidya), has been trained in energy/healing work by Pavlina Klemm, is a certified breath therapist (Lichtatmung®/naou Bewusstseinsschule), and is currently completing her training in 'Energy Medicine & Intuitive Healing Work' there.

    She developed her own Conscious Breathwork format, METAMORPHOSIS, in which she practices meditation, bodywork, and breathwork in combination with co-facilitators.

  • Prof. Dr. Isabel Dziobek

    CO-INITIATOR, PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY, HUMBOLDT UNIVERSITY BERLIN, HEAD OF PSYCHOTHERAPY AMBULATORY CLINIC

    Isabel Dziobek is a Professor of Clinical Psychology and Head of the University Outpatient Clinic for Psychotherapy and Psychodiagnostics at Humboldt University of Berlin.

    Her interests and research focus on social-cognitive and affective neurosciences, specifically emotion processing, empathy, and altered states of consciousness in individuals with and without mental disorders (autism, personality disorders, depression). For her research, she utilizes, among other methods, brain imaging techniques (EEG, fMRI), movement/breathing interventions, and technology-based training such as social robotics.

    Isabel Dziobek has published over 150 research articles in scientific journals and co-authored several works on the socio-emotional effects of psychedelics and entactogens. She has conducted numerous multicenter, third-party funded studies and has received multiple awards for her work, including the Charlotte and Karl Bühler Prize from the German Psychological Society in 2014.

    She received her education and worked at institutions including Ruhr University Bochum, New York University, Max Planck Institute for Human Development, and Freie Universität Berlin, before being appointed to Humboldt University of Berlin in 2014. She is also a cognitive behavioral therapist and a yoga instructor.

    WIM HOF METHOD INSTRUCTOR (LEVEL 2), MEDITATION TEACHER

    Sukkhadas Ingo Auer is an experienced meditation leader and certified Wim Hof Method® Instructor, who has been guiding individuals on their personal growth journey for over 20 years. Since 2018, he has been conducting workshops and seminars in Europe and the USA, assisting people in unlocking their full potential and leading fulfilling lives. Furthermore, he studied Advaita Vedanta, a philosophical and mystical branch of Hinduism, for 16 years. In his previous career as a marketer, Sukkhadas personally experienced burnout. This experience inspired him to now support individuals and organizations, including top managers and professional athletes, with mental and physical health programs. His current project, "7 Ice Summits of the Alps," is particularly compelling: Sukkhadas ascends the highest peaks of the seven Alpine countries wearing only shorts, without protection from the elements. In doing so, he explores the limits of human potential and demonstrates the power of the Wim Hof Method.

    LIGHT BREATHING, NAOU SCHOOL OF CONSCIOUSNESS

    Klaus & Vidya Ulbricht are the founders of the Conscious Breathwork format "Lichtatmung" (Light Breathing) and the Breathwork and Natural Medicine School naou.de. For 15 years, they have been conducting Breathwork sessions and advocating for the dissemination and advancement of simple, natural, and intrinsic methods for self-unfoldment and self-efficacy. Lichtatmung is an easily practiced form of trance breathing, the fundamentals of which they teach as part of their Breathwork training at naou school. naou is dedicated to fostering self-efficacy and growth, utilizing the inherent tools within every individual – natural, innate human tools that enable us to activate our potential, share it with others, and learn to rediscover both our inner and outer nature. The objective of naou is to promote awareness for oneself, the community, and our planet.

    Martha Havenith

    SCIENTIST, AUTHOR, ERNST STRÜNGMANN INSTITUTE FOR NEUROSCIENCE IN COOPERATION WITH MAX PLANCK INSTITUTE

    Martha Havenith is a Max Planck Research Group Leader at the Ernst Strüngmann Institute for Neuroscience, where she explores the brain's capacity to manage multiple cognitive processes simultaneously through Virtual Reality. Martha's career milestones include a Master's degree from the University of Oxford, a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, and research stays at University College London and the Donders Institute (Netherlands).

    Martha is a trained facilitator for Conscious-Connected Breathwork. She facilitates Breathwork sessions for groups and individuals, and offers Breathwork trainings and workshops in the medical field. With her husband Abdellatif Nemri, Martha co-authored the book ‘Atemkraft – Das Breathwork Handbuch’ (Breath Power – The Breathwork Handbook), which aims to provide readers with an overview of the scientific and historical foundations of breathwork, as well as practical advice on how best to practice – and facilitate – Breathwork. Through this work, Martha seeks to integrate science and lived experience into our understanding of breath – and its power.

    Eva Kaczor is a certified psychologist, purpose coach, speaker, and as the founder of PSYCHEDELIC BREATH®, one of the world's most renowned Breathwork teachers. Her professional journey spans careers in brand strategy and leadership development, as well as publishing her own art magazines, before she ultimately became an expert in spiritual growth and human potential.

    Through PSYCHEDELIC BREATH®, Eva collaborates with electronic music artists to share transformative consciousness experiences worldwide. Her partners include companies such as Google, Mercedes Benz, conferences like TOA Berlin and Web Summit, as well as music festivals and private events.

    HOLOTROPIC BREATHWORK, PSYCHOTHERAPIST, UNIVERSITY OF POTSDAM

    Michael Rapp is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and sociologist, and as an expert in mental health across the lifespan, he heads the Professorship for Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Potsdam. In addition to socio-demographic contextual factors, his expertise encompasses psychological, social, and societal resources and risk factors for mental and physical health. A central research aspect involves non-pharmacological interventions for improving and maintaining mental health. At the German Center for Mental Health, we are developing transdiagnostic models for assessing mental health, resources, and risk factors. Michael Rapp is nearing completion of his training as a Holotropic Breathwork Facilitator (Grof Transpersonal Training).

    Hans Rutrecht

    MIND FOUNDATION, AUGMENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING, PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND RESEARCH FELLOW

    Hans Rutrecht is a psychodynamic psychotherapist in training with further qualifications in systemic and gestalt therapy. He is involved in the conceptualization and teaching of the Augmented Psychotherapy training at the MIND Foundation and participates in various research projects. In the training program for physicians and psychotherapists, he is, among other things, responsible for conducting therapeutic self-experience sessions using Breathwork, stroboscopic light, and ketamine. At OVID Praxis, he guides patients through various altered states of consciousness. Further focal points of his lecturing, practical work, and research interest include the application of Virtual Reality and music in therapeutic settings.

    Frauke Sandig

    FILMMAKER "AWARE - JOURNEY INTO CONSCIOUSNESS"

    Frauke Sandig is a director and producer of theatrical documentary films and an editor at Deutsche Welle. Her films have been successfully screened worldwide at festivals (including Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, Karlovy Vary, San Francisco), in cinemas, and on television, and have received numerous awards. 

    In the feature films created in collaboration with Eric Black, she primarily addresses the defense of the environment and human rights, the perspectives of indigenous peoples, and profound philosophical, societal, and spiritual questions. “AWARE – Journey into Consciousness” is the second part of a cinematic trilogy. In the first part, “Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth,” contemporary Maya people in Mexico and Guatemala share their stories, speaking about their cosmovision of interconnectedness with nature and their struggle against the destruction of their environment and culture.

    Dr. Barbara Breitenstein

    Barbara is a lecturer in the field of psychedelics and psychotherapy and a clinical researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin. She is a licensed psychological psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy and with a specialization in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Barbara studied at Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and completed her doctorate at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich. In her scientific work, she focuses on the application of breathwork in subclinical populations. She participated in the clinical trials of esketamine for acute suicidality and addressed the personalization of depression treatment through biological markers such as sleep and genetics.

    Nina Hartter

    PhD STUDENT, HUMBOLDT UNIVERSITY, YOGA TEACHER

    Nina Hartter is a PhD student at Humboldt University of Berlin and conducts research on the application of breathwork in subclinical populations. She completed her M.Sc. at the School of Mind & Brain in Berlin, where she explored interdisciplinary perspectives from psychology, philosophy, and neuroscience. Her research interests primarily focus on connecting contemplative traditions with scientific approaches, as well as the application of alternative therapeutic approaches such as psychedelic therapy or breathwork. She participated in the research of a therapy program based on mindfulness and nature therapy methods for schizophrenia, as well as the testing of social interaction training for individuals with autism.

    In addition to her research, Nina works as a yoga teacher, dances, and enjoys spending time in nature.

    Sotantar Jörg Wendland

    Trauma-Sensitive Bodyworker specializing in De-Armouring, Breath and Polyvagal Specialist, Yoga Teacher, Musician

    Already during his medical studies, he developed a keen interest in breathing and its effects on our autonomic nervous system, consciousness, and perception.

    Always seeking new healing approaches and methods, he has studied with numerous healers and teachers from various traditions worldwide. 

    From the accumulated knowledge and integrated experiences of over 35 years of exploration, he has developed the unique polyvagal body and consciousness work, Armour Lifting Bodywork, from numerous healing modalities, through which individuals experience profound transformation of their emotional trauma responses and blockages. 

    An integral aspect of his work is the transformation of unconscious and unhealthy automatisms towards a comprehensively positive, more conscious, and authentic life.
